Do you think there is an upward trend of relationships valuing money over other qualities?
In my opinion, I do believe that there is a trend of relationships or marriages valuing money ever other qualities. In this new materialistic era, it is a fact that some people marry because their partner is rich and wealthy. Nowadays, you might see young women, at the age of 29 - 35 marrying old men who are at the age of 50 - 65. One might thought: Why would a young woman marry an old man? This might because that the woman married for the sake of the old man's money. Also, there are some cases in marriages whereby even if the husband lies to the wife, it doesn't matter to her, as long she enjoys the wealth of the husband. Also, in some marriages, the relationship between the husband and wife are distant, where they married because there are some economic benefits for doing so. In Kenya and Somalia, some people marry because there are incentives given, not because of true love.
These are thus an obvious example of relationships that value money over other qualities. "True love". This term has indeed became rare in existence in society nowadays, where one cannot compare the a relationship to those in fairy tales where there are 'happily forever'.

Is money important in a relationship in your opinion?
It depends on what relationship we are talking about. But however, whichever relationship we talk about, money will definitely play a significant role in this century. In this society, in marriages, one first thing that both partners would discover might be physical traits (handsome etc.) but however in the end they will definitely review each other's economic status, no matter whether it is true love or a relationship valuing money over qualities. Of course, money is not important in love, but however, this is a realistic and materialistic world, where money has achieved a significant role in society. One has to be realistic, and keep in mind that money is important in society. Without money, one can barely survive in this competitive and money-important enviroment. It is true that money cannot buy time, health, true love and happiness. But however, money can help in aiding and to fulfil these insufficiencies. It has come to a point that we must realise that money is important.
