Somali Ambassador to Kuwait Sheikh Abdul Qadir Amin said here on Monday the Somali people and their leadership are convinced that His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people will spare no effort in providing aid and all forms of help and support to Somalia in the face of its ordeal.
The ambassador said in a statement after his meeting with Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Barges Hmoud Al-Barges that the initiative of His Highness the Amir to provide humanitarian aid to the Somali people has made many Arab countries rush to send aid to Somalia.
He added that he discussed with Al-Barges a mechanism to deliver the aid in the coming days and requirements of food and relief, noting that Al-Barges expressed KRCS' readiness to provide all essential needs to the Somali people and rescue them from their distress because of the drought.
He expressed his country's appreciation for the KRCS' efforts in support of the humanitarian issues of the African peoples, especially Somalia, which is suffering the brunt of the drought that hit it recently, pointing to the leading position occupied by the KRCS regionally and internationally in the humanitarian work arena which is worthy of appreciation and respect.
