The ambassador said in a statement
after his meeting with Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS),
Barges Hmoud Al-Barges that the initiative of His Highness the Amir to
provide humanitarian aid to the Somali people has made many Arab
countries rush to send aid to Somalia.
He added that he discussed with Al-Barges a mechanism to deliver the aid in the coming days and requirements of food and relief, noting that Al-Barges expressed KRCS' readiness to provide all essential needs to the Somali people and rescue them from their distress because of the drought.

He expressed his
country's appreciation for the KRCS' efforts in support of the
humanitarian issues of the African peoples, especially Somalia, which is
suffering the brunt of the drought that hit it recently, pointing to
the leading position occupied by the KRCS regionally and internationally
in the humanitarian work arena which is worthy of appreciation and
respect.
The ambassador said that this is not a strange matter to the
KRCS, which is always rushing to the rescue of victims everywhere and
had a prominent role in relief works in Somalia, stressing that the
humanitarian work of the KRCS has become a landmark in this respect.
